OUR JOURNEY


On 15 January (Army Day) 1980, the Chief of the Army Staff made an announcement regarding the establishment of Army Schools across the country to provide quality education to the wards of defense personnel at affordable cost. In keeping view of the above, Army Public School Jorhat was established on 01 July 1992 with a meager strength of thirteen students and three teachers . Since then it has crossed many milestones to grow into one of the leading educational institutions of the entire region. The School, a Co-Educational Institution having classes from I to XII, with all the three streams : Science, Commerce, Humanities is under the administrative control of GOC, 41 Sub Area and under the ambit of Army Welfare Education Society. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, (CBSE affiliation No. New – 230028 / Old – 2328. The syllabus and the course of studies offered and pursued at the school are as prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education for the 10 + 2 system. The School curriculum up to class X is based on the recommendations of NCERT. This covers subjects such as English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies. The medium of instruction is English. The school now has classes up to XII with Science and Humanities stream. The school aims at all round personality development of children with special emphasis on sport, academic excellence and discipline. It also strives to instill a high sense of values and national integration among the school children so that they can become worthy citizens of our great nation.
